Okay, question 1 is: Why do squirrels chase each other?

Question 2 is: What is that weird barking / chirping noise that they make for? Obviously, as a citizen of the planet Earth, I've seen tons of squirrels in my day. But until today, I never heard them make any noises. What are those noises for? It was 2 squirrels chasing each other and making that weird noise...

  1. Their way of communicating.

  2. They chase each other to play or most likely it is because another squirrel has invaded their territory. The chirping/barking sound is a type of warning it is a sound of irritation. This is my take on it, cause I hear them in my backyard all the time. They make that chirping noise only when they are mad it seems.

  3. Squirrels, chase for playing.

And the chriping noises, are properly mating noises or communication...
