2 questions for the Army Chaptering process. I am getting chaptered on a 5-8 (lack of family care plan) and?

My questions are if I have to pay back my bonus do the go from what the bonus was say I got 13k but they took taxes and I only actually saw 9k do I have to pay back the 13k or the 9k? If I have 39 days of leave can I take that leave or do I have to cash it in and what is the regulation on that because my CSM is refusing it and I want to know if I should go to IG.

of course they can get their money but only money that they have control ie leave, future earnings....

Not understanding why u were chaptered for that but sometimes, if the chapter is out of your control and not for something you didn't do or could not reasonably do, they don't touch the money.  If you suspect this is the case, it wouldn't hurt to get the commander to sign a letter in your defense to give to S1 (for finance of course).

laslty, you only pay back what you received.  Nothing more.  No compound interest or anything like that.  If you got 9k or 13 with taxes, that's what they're after.

You owe 13k not 9k.  You received the income and the taxes were AFTER you got the bonus, not before. The leave will most probably be sold back or you  may be allowed to go terminal if your command decides to allow it and they are the SOLE deciding authority when it comes to leave.

you will be required to pay it all back.  when you file your taxes you will even out.

the command is under no obligation to allow you to take the leave.

YES go to IG if you feel like you need to.  What happened with your family care plan, and did anyone ever tell you that you had to have one?
