okay i have tried to research this, but i have found stuff that doesnt make a ton of sense. heres situation one. i play ward sliver, and select white as the color to be protected from, does that mean that essence slivers ability doesnt work with any other slivers? and the same for shifting sliver. if i select blue as the color protection, does shifting slivers ability not work for all other slivers????

situation 2. im kinda confused as to how to use crypt slivers ability. regen confuses me. how would i use the ability "tap: regenerate target sliver." help please???

  1. Protection from X does 4 things, DEBT

It cannot be Damaged by something that is X

It cannot be Enchanted or Equipped by something that is X

It cannot be Blocked by something that is X

It cannot be Targeted by something that is X

Slivers giving all other slivers their ability still works, no matter what sliver you're talking about. This is because the phrase "all slivers gain" doesn't target. Using some of the sliver activated abilities may target, and could be negated by protection (like Crypt Sliver if you give your's protection from black).

For regeneration, when there is an effect that would cause one of your slivers to die, you use the regeneration ability IN RESPONSE to that effect. A sliver gets targeted by Lightning Bolt, respond by regenerating it. One of your slivers going to be killed in combat, regenerate it before combat damage resolves.

  2. Well i haven't played MTG in a long time. But for situation 2, i would say that you can tap it to regenerate any target sliver. Seems simple enough.
