  1. 1. Time out.

    2. I don't think you should co-sleep in the first place.

  2. 1. Time out.

    2. Depends on the child

  3. 1. time out, but only if your child understands why you put them in time out.

    2. 4 or 5

  4. Spanking is only ok if it involves a very serious safety issue. It strips kids of their dignity. Remember, you are spanking because YOU are mad, not because of what the child did.  Time out works best.

5 years old seems to be the line. But it will be much much harder for a child to sleep alone who has not done so their whole life. Remember, they sleep with you because it makes YOU feel better. They can sleep alone from day one and be fine.

Occasionally take a self check to determine your motivations. Are they for the best interests of the child, or are because it makes me feel better?

  5. 1. Both, time outs for smaller stuff, and spankings for more serious stuff. But if I had to say which was more effective, spanking by far. It's just that if I only used spanking, they'd lose there effectiveness, so we save them for major no-no's

    2. Our children all sleep in their rooms (all girls under the age of 12). However all of them on occasion will sleep with us for various reasons (usually it's more of a bad dream, or scared type of thing). I don't think it's ever a issue as  long as they generally sleep in their own beds. To answer the question - No age is to old, it's up to them. However all of mine have always slept in their own rooms since they moved into a crib (1-2 months).

  6. 1.  Timeout as it teaches children to take a "calm down period" and think about things and stresses finding a way to solve problems without violence

    2. I would say 8 or 9 maybe really depends on the child and the parents.  My oldest son is 6 years old and if he has a nightmare will still climb in bed with me and the pediatrician said it is normal and just shows that he trusts me and can come to me when he is scared.  Usually by 8 or 9 they stop doing that.

  7. 1.)  Both are effective and both are used in our home when the circumstances call for it.

2.) In my opinion I think that a child over 6 months old should be in their own bed.  I never co-slept with either of my children because my husband rolls a lot in his sleep and there is a higher risk of SIDS if you do co-sleep and I didn't want to take the risk.

  8. spanking is based on fear & dominance over another person.

do you really want to teach that to your children?

as an occasional thing - pre-school.

as a nightly thing - as soon as they sleep through the night.

  9. for 1 it depends, on what the child does, if the child talks to you back very nasty a good slap in the face will fix it. If they do something wrong, like drugs, a good long talk is good but consistency is the key. Time outs are always good too.

for 2. I am not a little child  already a grown teen and I still sometimes cuddle up with my mother.

  10. 1.

Neither, really, but time out works...

There are three types of attention:

    Positive Attention

    Negative Attention

    No Attention.

In the absence of one type of attention, kids will seek the other.  That means that if your child isn't getting enough positive attention/reinforcements, they'll seek out negative attention by acting out.

Your best bet is to recognize good behavior...reserving "punishment" to situations where your child is in danger, or hurting another child.  Most other behaviors...ie, the ones that aren't dangerous, just not "proper"--ignore as best you can.  By not "rewarding" the negative behavior with attention, and recognizing the behaviors you want, your child will CHOOSE to be good.

And?  Don't argue with your child. Ever.  If they argue with you, "Ah, too bad, I'll come back and talk with you in a few"--walk away, do something else, come back.  And they are often more creative with their punishments.

Also, time out time depends on the age of your child.  For young children, a few minutes is enough--they won't understand if it's 10 or 15 minutes.

    2.

Depends on the child--are they developmentally normal?  Are they interfering with their parents ability to have private parent-time?  Is it nightly? ...if you're concerned about this attachment, talk to your pediatrician. :)

  11. well honestly i have tried spanking, time out, grounding and to be honest for me anyway and all the parents i know it all works the same. its a never ending thing.

i think 2 is old enough, once they start to walk they will always be in your room if you dont stop it now.

  12. Time outs and taking away privileges and toys is more effective than spankings.

A child is to old to share a bed with his/her parents when either the parent or child no longer wants to do it whenever that may be.

  13. How old is the kid?? deppending on age i would say time out if there young but if there kinda older time out but then you should ground them if time out doesnt work. and i would say 3-4 for the second Q

  14. Spanking or Time out.

It all depends on the child. I have tried both. For example, my 10-yr old responds to spankings and my 3-yr old responds to firm talk and time out.

The kid in the bed should stop in the infant days. My 3-yr old sleeps with my husband and I sometimes but mostly he is in his own bed. Plus it hurts the s*x life between you and yours.

  15. 1. time out

    2. about 3 or 4 .. you don't want it to become a habbit that will just be harder as the child gets older.

  16. 1. Punishment is never better than reinforcement which would be time out in this case. 2. This is all up to you

  17. 1.WELL I THINK TIME OUT BECAUSE SPANKING THEM MAKES THEM MADER AT U AND THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN SO TIME OUT

#2.WELL WHEN ME AND MY HUSBAND HAVE A CHILD IT WILL SLEEP IN IT'S BED FROM THE GET GO. SO I RELLY DO NOT KNOW MABEE 3 YEARS OLD
