I realize animals can sense things. Do you think it's possible for a 2.5 week old kitten with it's eyes barely open, to know who saved it's life?

I pulled him from under a chair at a neighbors house last night. He was almost strangled to death on strings hanging under the chair. I now have him, his momma, and his three brothers and sisters.

Vet checked, he's fine, really. Vet said he's a lucky, LUCKY boy. But he's clingy. His mom fed him. I got them a nice box and put them on mild heat. But he screams. Oh my God does he scream. I finally felt bad so I whipped him up some home made formula hoping it would make him feel better to have something a little thicker in him's lil belly. Boy, wrong thing to do. He screamed louder when I put him down. So I went and grabbed him up real quick thinking something was wrong. Minute I scooped him up he started PURRING!!! Then he crawled up in a ball and went to sleep.

WTF? Is it actually possible that I'm being played by a 2.5 week old??? This kitten has never had human contact untill last night. Why is he so stuck to me? Is it possible that he knows I saved him...at 2.5 weeks old?????

  1. IDK about if he knows you saved him, it's possible though.

That's cute. My mom had a kitten that was clingy like that. She had to make a baby strap to carry him around during the day. Otherwise he'd just cry and cry.

Looks like you're in for a ride haha

  2. he's got you wrapped around his little paw. When they are screaming like that, they are looking for comfort either from ttheirmother or you. Next time he wails like that, place him with his mother and hopefully she will take care of him. And yes, kittens that age do enjoy human contact and once they have it they really want it more and more.

My 6 week old kittens were like that when I got them at 3 weeks of age.

  3. Geeze...  What a story.  Poor little guy.   How sweet.  I think it is possible he is attached to you.  But I would be very careful  feeding him anything other than his mom's milk - since it is available.   I know you meant well, and it appeared to help.  But there is nothing better than a  mom's milk for nutrition and antibodies etc...   Plus, he may have trouble digesting anything else.  Also, make sure your heating pad is under the box and not just the blankets inside of the box.  I have had to treat so many babies that have been burned because they crawl under the blankets and get burned.  They need to be able to move from one side of the box to the other safely from warm to cool at their or mom's discretion.  (you may have already known this - I was just sharing info.)

Anyway, Enjoy this time - I wish you and your very special friend many years together  :)

  4. the kitten probably just likes to be held and petted and since your the first person to do that to it, the kitten is probably attached to you since it thinks your probably the only one who will do this to it!
