My son's 2nd birthday is next month but I'm starting to worry that I won't have much money to throw him a party or get him what I want for his birthday. I'm a single mom and I'm struggling to make ends meet right now much less try to get a birthday party together & paid for. He loves the movie Cars so I want to do that a theme for the party what are some cheap things I can do for his party...??

  1. Honey , no one has been poorer than we were when my daughter was growing up. You can get a cake, icing and decorations at the grocery store for total maybe of $5. Invite a few little kids his own age over and buy him a toy from the movie. It's the love you put into children that counts, not the material things you give them. My daughter grew up to be everything I wanted her to be and we were poorer than church mice. When people see her now they think she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and we just laugh. It would have been a little plastic spoon. ha You're in my prayers and with God's help you can do anything.

  2. He's 2 so it probably won't matter much! Just get some Cars decorations and just invite a few friends and family. You could even turn it into a pitch-in BBQ or something, or have it at the park and decorate a pavillion with Cars things and streamers. Party stores and party aisles will have a lot of Cars things as well.

  3. A simple play date at a park with a cake to share with his freinds would be perfect. You won't even have to clean up the mess at home and no one will know where or how you live. Good luck.

  4. well u can alsways make the cake or just not get a really big one for cheap at wal mart or sams club and the dollar store may have some decorations (even Car) that may be cheap or maybe try walmart. food just do little things its summer so, hot dogs, veggies, chips and maybe some juice and water. u dont need invites, i know its cute but not nesssasary so just call people. as for gifts get a couple toys that u can and some clothes if needed. my daughter will be two in sept and im kinda looking at the same thing, i wont be doing anything too big this year.
