My youngest sons 2nd birthday party is exactely a month away. This is the time where we should be in the planning stage to get invitations out by next week. We have decided to do a train style party- Thomas the Train that is. I have gotten the plates and napkins, etc for the party. Now I need ideas for color balloons, decorations and food suggestions. Do you think a pinata is appropriate for a 2 year olds b-day party, or is the pull the string pinata just what it says and easier?

  1. i would not do the pinata i tried that and the parents ending up have to play, the kids were to small. i would do red and blue balloons and if you go to a party store they will have tomas the train shaped balloons. also target has tomas the train stuff you might be able to find some fun stuff there

  2. Blankets stuffed animals

  3. An idea for the kids may be to set up play "stations" that have to do with the train things, or other things.  We had a little "art" station, a little craft thing where the kids made something that had to do with our theme.  It was easy and they could do it themselves.  Everyone could decorate a conductor's hat or something like that.  If the weather is nice, you can have a "station" or two (or all) outside.  If this is the case, painting is always a bit hit.  OH!  I have a great idea (maybe).  If you are able have someone draw a big Thomas scene on butcher paper (try the local meat market or the meat dept. at your grocery store).  Each kid can color/paint/marker a part of the pic.  Then you can hang it in your son's room for a bit.  Since the kids are older than your son is, perhaps this would keep them enterained for a while.  Several different options for them to play at while at the party. Good luck~ have fun!

  4. Hey:

First I did Thomas the Train, a her 4year, for my daughter loves him and now she is five, and still loves Thomas!!

Her whole room is Thomas, just as Girly as possiable!!

    I used:

Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow balloons!!

I had a Hot dog, Hamburger, and Faitia Cook out!! Pool Party!

I also has a huge Thomas the Train Pinata, full of gewy candies, and Bubble Gums, also some money!!

I had the money in toys in the pinta!!

I mean Huge, like the size of three to 5 of the Humdifier Trains, that they sale, in with and length was even larger!!

So Good Choice, and my daughter got to go on the Train ride with Thomas,

Even I had fun at this event, and we plan to go agian, with her new brother!!

    Have fun!!

  5. pinata? no. you don't want 2 year-olds swinging bats. i wouldn't even give them candy! how about a clown, letting them play musical instruments, a sandbox, building blocks, or any other toys and games. offer kid-friendly finger foods and a cake or ice cream. they're 2, honey- keep it short and simple.

  6. food should be easy yo make and clean up use for little kids to eat pinata I would say no that could end up being very bad the first time they miss hit another kid or try and hit it let it go and it hit some one not good. Color go with your son favorite color or the color of the trains on the napkins and plates and stuff.

  7. Check this website for how to play the pull pinata

party game, it's safe and fun for small children http://www.pinatas.com/How_to_Play_Pull_...
