My daughter will be 2 the 12th of September and I am looking for ideas as to where to have her party. I don't want to have a party at home. My a/c unit went out and have to be completely replaced. So that's out.

I was thinking about Chuck E Cheese. They have 2 packages. 10.99 per child and 15.99 per child. I am not sure how many children will be there. Most of my friends kids are a bit to old for Chuckie E Cheese also. Then I was going to have it a local Skating ring but I don't know if they have skates for toddlers. I will find that out. But anyone have any good ideas?

  1. actually chuck e cheese is good for anyone either if they are young or too old. who cares if its only for babies, they do have older kids games there too and as for skates for toddlers....they do have them, my kids go skating all the time and my daughter is 4 and my sister in law rents them for her.

  2. Yes - the price at Chuck E Cheese is pretty good. I had my son's 1st party at a park.. and spent over $300 by the time decorations, food, and drinks were bought. (Yikes!) The only thing with CEC, is that even though they have the prices listed for kids... some locations charge the same price for each adult that attends also.

A park is always a good option though. You have entertainment for the kids, and can always bring a radio or something with you. For my son's party, we ordered pizza. Every single pizza place I called ran a special where if you bought so many pizzas, you got them at a cheaper rate (we bought 10 pizzas at $6 a piece).

Also - if you do the park, save money by making things yourself. One idea that I thought was fantastic.. is making cupcakes but not decorating them. Then take some icing, sprinkles, etc.. with you and make it an activity for the kids to do. They have such a blast creating their own cupcake masterpieces.

A skating rink could be fun, but check to see if they can close it for so many hours or if it would still be open to the public during the party. Nothing worse than planning a party, and then having it ruined by a bunch of unruly teenagers.

Here we also have a place called Picasso's Cup. They offer birthday parties. They don't provide food or anything, but it's an art cafe. Everyone picks a piece of art they want to paint, you paint it, and leave it with them. In about a week, you pick up your piece, which has been fired, glazed, and fired again.

  3. chuck e cheese - all the way. haha, i'm 14 and when my friends and i can't figure out anywhere to go, we go to chuck e cheese. hahahahah. granted that the guys are pulling their hair out... but hey, i've beat some of them at the driving game =P.

but also, it's not like they'll be that old, will they? they must be SOMEWHERE in the neighborhood of your daughter's age!

    good luck!

  4. My second birthday was at Chuck E Cheese!  I think that is a great place.  It has been said that for a child's birthday, you should only invite one friend for the number of years of your child so age 2, two friends, that's not including cousins and things like that.  I don't think the skating rink would be a great idea, with her being so little she could get hurt easily or bored even faster.  Remember it's her birthday so do something that you know SHE would have fun with.
