  1. Keep his fluids up!!!!

    Does he have a fever?

Definitely, get him into a doctor.  If you cannot get in TODAY, take him to the nearest walk-in.  Five days of diarrhea can cause severe dehydration in a toddler!

  2. I would hold off giving any meds right now.Your main concern should be dehydration, make sure that the little one is getting plenty of water.Astool sample may be needed for testing, simply have a spoon full in a zip lock in case its needed.Best of luck for the little one, and I hope he/she is feeling better soon.

  3. it sounds like a routoh virus.  I spelled it like it sounds - not sure how to spell it.  Go get him some pedialite and give it to him his bottle.  Straight out of the bottle.  It will help him replenish fluids.

  4. My son was hospitalized for a bad case of diarrhea a few months ago.

The absolute most important thing is to keep your child hydrated! Kids lose a lot of hydration through excessive diarrhea. Get some pedialyte (it comes in I think three different flavors now).. and push fluids constantly. Also - you can give your child some popsicles.

When he was in the hospital, the doctor there told me that any fluid you can see through is good to give. Avoid sodas, fruit juices, etc.

Hope your little one gets better soon!
