I have a 2 year old who has been sleepin in her toddler bed now for about 4 months, and just recently she has been getting out of her bed either before she falls asleep, or wakes up during the night, and she takes her pillow, and sleeps on the floor beside her bed. She doesn't cry, or scream, thats just where I find her in the mornings. Any ideas on how to keep her in bed?

  1. my 2 1/2 year old daughter does it sometimes, and i have a nephew the same age that does it. I just leave her there.

  2. I'm with sahmmy...if she's comfy sleeping on the floor and hasn't wandered off into your bedroom or elsewhere in the house- let it be. For some reason or another she's finding comfort in the floor. If she's getting a good night's sleep and not waking up irritable it's all good. Sometimes it's a novelty to sleep somewhere new and at 2 she probably feels like she's making her own decision (as to where SHE wants to sleep).

    Best of luck!

  3. Don't even worry about it. I've known a number of people whose kids liked to sleep on the floor for some reason. They all outgrew it naturally. As long as she's sleeping, life is good.
