  1. Well Budgie's can have baby budgie's after they are one.. so if you want baby budgie's then go for it! if not.. then don't =D gooood luuck =D

  2. It is very hard to tell if budgies will get along. It may be a bit of a risk.

  3. I don't think fighting is what you should worry about

It all depends on the bird though. My budgie would not like having another bird in her cage. If he looks lonely then talk to him, buy him toys and stuff

  4. They don't just pop out babies. I have two males and two females together and they have not bred, even though for a long time I had a nesting box in there. I would recommend using another cage, perhaps borrow one of someone if you know someone with a cage, and sit them next to each other. If they don't seem distressed or annoyed put them together. I'm sure they'll get on fine though, although they might be a bit awkward at first.

The new budgie doesn't have to be a baby, and can be either s*x, although I find with my four budgies the two boys get on very well together and the two females are often seen sitting together too. Personally I would get another boy because it is common knowledge girls are a bit nasty and tetchy. Mine often nip the boys and hog all the food, whereas my boys like flitting about and playing together, theyre more chilled.

  5. Unless you are going to breed it is a pointless excercise putting a female with your male as they will attempt to breed.

If you intend to breed, then you will need a bigger cage if you have a standard size Budgie cage also you will need a Budgie nest box.

    But don't take breeding lightly.!!

First thing to do is buy or borrow a book on keeping, breeding and the welfare of your birds.

It is not the simple thing as putting two birds to-gether

and letting them get on with it.

So have a good think before you do!! breeding will take up a lot of your time and energy.

  6. You could, yes. I'd recommend adopting: http://www.petfinder.com

Remember to quarantine any new birds in another room for at least three weeks before doing introductions slowly.

Is your boy hand tame? You'll want to hand tame them separately before introducing them to bond otherwise it'll be harder to tame them.

You're right, they are much less likely to breed if you do not provide a nest box. So do not provide one. There are enough homeless budgies in the world as it is.

They will not breed if conditions are not right and they do not feel it is safe to do so. You can make sure to prevent breeding by not providing a nest box, making sure they get 12hrs of dark a night, and by mixing up the cage weekly (alternate and move around toys and perches).

Another option would be to just get another male budgie so you don't have to worry about breeding at all!

  7. Getting a female for a male doesn't always work out, yes, they can fight.  There's no guarantee that they will get along.  I'd suggest getting another cage and put them side by side until they show interest in each other.  If they truly get along outside of the cages then you can put them together.  They may produce eggs even without a nest box.

  8. What about buying a second cage and placing them next to each other. They could chirp through the bars without having babies
