  1. Remember that a temperature taken under the arm is actually one degree less than accurate.  So, in your case, her accurate temp is 103.  If you have already administerd motrin or tylenol and can not lower the fever, I would recommend taking her now.  Granted, fevers rise at night, but it's always better to play it on the safe side.  High temperatures are dangerous and nothing to play around with.  Good luck and I hope she's feeling better soon!

  2. No offense, but you should be off the computer, in the car and on the way to the ER. Fever aside, your daughter's breathing is abnormal...that needs immediate attention!

I hope that she is alright...my thoughts are with your family!

  3. You should take her to the ER. 102 under the arm is very high. It is likely a degree or two above that. Take her in to see a doctor asap.

  4. If the temp was 102 on the thermometer it is actually 103, which is pretty high. You don't want to mess around with high fevers, try to break the fever with a cool (not cold) bath and baby Tylenol. If the fever doesn't go down I'd bring her in.

You said her breathing is heavier, does it seem like she is having trouble moving air? Put your ear at the base of her lungs and listen to her breathing (preferably in a quite room), do you hear any whistling or wheezing? If so she needs to go to the ER.

If you're still not sure call the triage nurse at the ER and ask them.

The movie comment makes me think she's lethargic- If her breathing is okay and the fever goes down then its probably okay to wait (I'd still call the triage nurse). If she isn't better tomorrow I'd definantley bring her into the doctor.

  5. Take her to the hospital...Call her Dr.

  6. I would call the doctor to be sure, but that's pretty high.  you are supposed to add a degree for underarm, so she's at 103, with fever reducer?  I would definitely call and be sure...could be just the medecine kicking in, but you need to be sure.

  7. Two-year olds are notorious for spiking a high temp suddenly.  The breathing is what worries me, though.  Watch her chest while she breathes in and out (such as while sleeping) and see if it looks normal or like she is really having to work hard.  If she is having to work hard I would say take her in to an after hours clinic.  If she is doing okay with her breathing, and you can keep her fever under control until morning I would take her to her pediatrician.  She may have an ear infection or something causing that fever.  Good luck.

  8. TAKE HER NOW IF SHE IS BREATHING HEAVY!!!!!!!!!  Yes, you should be worried...

  9. take her now especially since medicine isn't breaking her fever.

  10. WTF r u doing on yahoo answers you should be at the doctor
