Hey....I'm a healthy 20 year old and I've been having many problems getting an erection. I thought at first it was probably just a mental problem but I've noticed that i haven't even woken up with one in a month or two. I also can't get an erection when attempting to m********e. I've been able to get them once in a while but it takes a lot more effort than ever before. I got a blood test and urine test and both came back normal. I'm just curious what to do about it. It's putting a damper on my s*x life and causing a lot of stress. So does anyone know what this problem could be?

  1. You didn't mention if the blood test was for diabetes or testosterone or what it was.  If you haven't already done so, tell your health care provider so they can help find out the cause of this.  As you know, this is not normal for a 20 year old.  Depression can cause sexual problems but as you mentioned, you would expect to have a morning erection at least half the time so perhaps it's a medical problem.  If you don't want to talk about it with your regular health care provider, consider seeing a urologist - that's their specialty.

  2. I think you've probably answered your own question!  You're probably all stressed out over something.  Are you in college & not getting enough rest, exercise or sleep or eating a balanced diet?  Or - are you working many hours trying to get ahead financially & overworked & tired all the time?  Are you trying too hard in the sexual aspect of your life?  Relax, let it all happen naturally.  Things should happen in due course - not when YOU want it to happen.  Are you questioning your own sexuality & maybe confused on this issue?

  3. depression or medications for depression can cause it

  4. Hmmm. Qs back to you:

Do you have any lower back pain?

Do you ride a bicycle (a lot)?

Do you empty your bowel and bladder frequently?

You say you've had a blood test...did they check your prostate?

Do you use drugs or drink alcohol excessively

My advice: Go back to the doctor. It could be a nervous system problem, prostate trouble, or a genuine lack of arousal (that's in your head...the one on your shoulders). Possibly a hormone imbalance.

  5. Have you joined the military or the circus?

They both put stuff in your food so you don't get a woody.
