20 players who will not be in their current club next season: Football – Part 8
Article continued from part seven...
Salif Diao (Stoke City)

The defensive midfielder left Stoke City last summer but rejoined the club after a few months had passed. Stoke City had agreed to extend his career by one year but with that year over, there is no statement of intent from the Stoke backroom staff to suggest
that they will be likely to renew his contract.

The 34-year-old Senegalese has been a fan favorite and has been a positive influence on the squad making him a very popular man. With his age not on his side, he has very little to offer at Britannia Stadium and has never made the Premier League his own.
Salif Diao started his professional football career with Monaco in 1996 and spent four years with his first club and made just twenty seven appearances but did make a one year loan spell with SAS Epinal where he was showcased twice.
The Senegalese international player’s first transfer came at the start of the new millennium when he moved to Sedan for a period of two years and appeared for the team forty nine times. Next the player moved to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and became a part of the squad at Anfield
and stepped onto the football field for the Reds thirty seven times and netted his first professional goal.
Diao was with Liverpool for five years in which he made three loan spells, the first with Birmingham City in 2005 where he made an appearance twice, than there was one loan spell with Portsmouth where he appeared eleven times during the 2005-06 season.
His last contract was with Stoke City in 2006 where he made just sixteen appearances for the club and at the end of the loan period the player was bought and was made a permanent part of the Potters and since then has stepped onto the football field sixty
five times and netted his second official goal.

Not many clubs will be interested in his services at the start of next season and retirement is his only option. The ex-http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 anchorman turned down a chance last year to become the official ambassador of the club but may well take his chance this time and
will be an important addition to the backroom staff this year round.

Matt Kilgallon (Sunderland)

He has been rarely seen in the first team at Sunderland since he signed for them in the last winter’s transfer season. He has managed to rack up only seven appearances in his less than impressive year-and-a-half tenure at the Stadium of Light.

He has made the second tier English league his own and has spent most of his time with Sunderland out on loan in the first division sides Doncaster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and Middlesbrough.

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Titus-Bramble-c35166 are ahead of him in the queue for the starting 11 so if he needs first team football he will
have to look for teams elsewhere.
