Question:

20" or 24" for unicycle?

im getting a new one and i was just curious of what was better for a little trials and trails and riding around for fun on the road.

  1. Riding for fun on the road: 24" or even larger. 20" is slower. Takes forever to get anywhere.

    But for trails a 20 inch would be better. It's easier to climb steel hills with a 20" than a 24", it's like being in a lower gear.

    Also I think for trials they usually use a 20".  Easier to make tight turns on a 20" too. E.g. for indoors riding.

    So you have to make up your mind what's more important to you, speed or agility. Or you can learn building your own unicycles from bike parts and have lots of different unicycles. You can get an entire bike from a scrap yard for $5 and use it to build an unicycle. Though you also need some welding and metal working skills. And sealed cartridge ball bearings.
