Question:

20 somethings WITHOUT parents??

hey I was wondering what are somethings you do on a lonely day to cheer yourself up immensely?

most people can call up there mom or their dad when they are bored or sad but if you don't have that option what are some simple ways you keep yourself happy?

  1. There are lots of guys and girls a lot younger than you who don't have a mother and/or father.

    Why don't you become involved with the Big Sisters program and share your time and your love with a "little sister".  It would do wonders for the young girl you are spending time with and I'm sure it would be very helpful and healing for you as well.  You can offer that child the personal experience of knowing how they are feeling and what they are going through and you could be a real blessing to them.

    I'm not sure where you live, but Big Sisters is all over so check your yellow pages.  I'm from Canada so here's a page from their website for you to take a look at.

  2. Go to the museum, or zoo, or a movie. You can also go to a cafe and have some Al fresco Capuccino. Go to the park. People with animals usually attract attention, and spark up conversations. Go to an animal shelter and become a volunteer, there are so many things, I do not have parents that I can call either. I do Karaoke. It all depends on the time of day and the mood. Just do not sit and pout. Keep active. I do yoga and meditating. Make friends

  4. I have parents, but I never call them unless its something important.

    Usually I deal with depression by going out and about, exploring shops and parks, eating fried egg with deep-fried chipped garlic, looking at my collection of beefcake, buying records...usually buying music cheers me right up.
