Van Aanholt signed a long term, four year contract with the London side, which will ensure he remains with Chelsea in the upcoming seasons.
The left back signed began his senior football career with Chelsea in 2009, waiting until March 2010 to make his official debut.
After just a few appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Van Aanholt was loaned out to Championship side Coventry City on a short term loan move.
He was recalled to Stamford Bridge the same season due to unavailability of some players, but shortly after was sent to Premier League side Newcastle United on a one month loan.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 under-21 international was then sent to Leicester City on a loan move until the end of the season.
He was out for the better part of the season, having picked up a thigh injury which saw him sidelined for over four months.
With the end of the season having arrived, Van Aanholt returned to London where he was offered a contract extension.
The new contract will keep him at Stamford Bride at the end of the 2014 season.
