My faithful machine running XP Pro, recently crashed and will not reboot properly. The windows logo comes on the screen for a couple of minutes and appears as if it will reboot properly, but it does not.It displays an error message "apologizing for the inconvenience stating that a new software upgrade or installation might be causing the problem" and recommends to restart normally with previously known settings. It has a 24 second countdown to restart and when it does the windows logo appears and after a couple of minutes, it reverts back to the error message and repeats the process all over without ever rebooting properly. I have not installed any new software nor have done any recent updates.
