2000 Chevy Malibu won't start, theft light flashes or 10 minutes then car will start, how do i disable/bypass?

im sure your owners manual will say something about your security system. if not go to the car dealership but they aren't free if they have to fix or replace. Im sure its something that could just be reset or a code that could be cleared.

It sounds like a sensor has gone bad. On some cars if you completely disconnect the battery for ten minutes or so it will clear the error code. Otherwise, many auto parts stores (and also some oil change places) have code readers and they will go out and hook it up to your computer on your car and clear the code for free and also tell you what is wrong. That would probably be your best bet. But of course, then you'll have to find somebody to fix it and that's not too cheap...Believe me, I had to have it done too! So just call around and ask questions! =) Good luck!
