I bought a 2000 Ford Focus and I've been having all kinds of weird and crazy problems with.. I was online and found out that 4 of the 5 problems i'm having at some point resulted in a recall of the car.. My question is since it was used and it's 8 years old can I still contact someone about getting my car looked at for all these recalls and would I still qualify to get my car fixed under the recall?

  1. If you go to any Ford dealership with your VIN handy, any service advisor can run it through OASIS to check for any open recalls on your vehicle. You can e-mail me personally for more info if you'd like. Hope this helps.

  2. recalls are vehicle specific.  to check for your car go to www.customersaskford.com the ask about recalls.  the system will ask for your vin, that's the vehicle id and it is 17 digits usually begins with 1f or on some focus lines can begin with 3f, type that in then the system will let you know if there are any open recalls on your car

  3. You should call a local Ford dealership and ask. I don't know about this specific recall, but I know that anyone with as old as a 1994 7.3L Ford Power Stroke can have their cam position sensor replaced under the recall. So, I think it's pretty likely that you could get the warranty work done.
