2000 Grand Am security light flashing and wont start for 10 mins

Hi all, i have a 2000 grand am and when i go to start it sometimes it wont start. this is starting to happen more often over the year. To get it started i have to put the key in an on position for 10 min until the security light stops flashing on the dash, then it will start. it use to only happen once every 3 month now it will do it 4-5 every 2 weeks. anyone know what going on here, and how the problem can be solved.

Hmmm. The only thing I can suggest is that you take a look in your owners manual and find out how to disable the useless security system. If that is not an option then I would ask the dealer.
