There is a small flat s***w on the lower bottom and a larger spring-loaded s***w near the middle of the carburetor. How many turns for each is right?

  1. the small flat s***w is the air s***w, a good starting point is s***w it all the way in, then back it out exactly 2 full turns.  if it's jetted properly for the altitude you are in, it should be very close.

the spring loaded s***w is the idle set s***w.  tighten to increase idle and loosen drop the idle.  adjust to where it idles nicely on a warm engine, might be a little higher on cold engine or when choke is on.
