2000 Kawasaki KDX200, what are the two black boxes under the seat?

One has heat sink fins on it and the other is just a black box, both wired into the electrical system.

  1. The part with the fins is the voltage regulator - when the engine is reved, it sends the extra voltage that the lighting coil makes to ground, so the lights don't burn out.

    The other part is the igniter (electronic ignition) (CDI box)
