2000 Mitsubishi Montero Water pump Engine Blown?

I have taken my car to Goodyear its entire life, every couple of months. I keep meticulous records. I took it in to be serviced and now they are telling me my engine is blown due to a defective water pump. They put in the water pump! The company that sold Goodyear the water pump won't stand behind it...I cannot seem to find out if other waterpumps were defective as well. Goodyear said that even though they installed the defective water pump - I am out of luck..Wouldn't a defective part be obvious before the installation? I can't get an answer out of Goodyear yes or no about the waterpump absolutely being defective when they installed it...but that is their answer to the engine being blown....they won't commit to one way or the other. Now they are telling me it will cost appox $6000 for a new engine! I took the car in for service and now the doctor tells me the patient is totally dead!! What do I do?? How can I find out who is at fault here and hold accountable??

  1. i think the best thing to do is talk to a lawyer, cause thats some b/s you are not at fault what so ever, i personaly think its the water pump manuf. thats at fault cause you cannot tell if a parts defective just by looking at it, they probably didnt even check it before it was shiped
