2000 Pontiac Grand Am Beeping on start?

Question

I have a 2000 Grand Am and I didnt fully close the gas cap, so the check engine light was on. So, I disconnected the battery and left it for a few hours to restart the computer. When I reconnected it and started the car, the check engine light was off but there was a loud beeping that lasted about 30 seconds, and it is now there every time I start the car. Any idea what this could be or what I should do? Thanks!
