Question:

2000 VW Bug Overheating

Whether my car is running, or idle, right after turning it on the overheating light comes on. The funny thing is that it only happens every other time I turn on the car. I just had the water pump, thermostat, and timing belt replaced. I noticed the coolant level was low, so I filled it up yesterday. But since the problem only happens sometimes, I can't tell if it's fixed or not...so assuming it's not, what else could be wrong?

  1. The brake light has nothing to do with the collant light. The collent light is coming on, because you are working out all the air pockets in the system, after the work in the system has been preformed. BE SURE, that when you replace the collent in the system, that you dilute the antifreeze 50/50, with water, or you will get any heat in the winter, or the engine WILL o/heat in the summer.

Antifreeze is a protection on the coolent system regard of the weather
