  1. This is why I hate factory security systems.  You should ask on the car forums, not here.

Are you using the original key?  Has it been washed or something like that?

I had a security system lock me out; I was able to route around it by pulling its fuse, then reinserting the fuse while holding down the on-dash security button.  That reset everything.  Your mileage may vary, of course.

    Good luck.

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website.

  3. change the battery in the clicker,if that dont work you will have to take it to a chevy garage an have them reprogram it happend to me once and it is very expencive.

  4. Sounds to me like the contacts inside the ignition switch that connect with the "pellet" on the key have been damaged.  If you look real closely inside the ignition cylinder, as you are inserting the key, you can see the contacts spread open as the key is inserted.  Sometimes you can look close and see that one or both contacts are already spread open, meaning the tiny spring mechanism behind them is worn or damaged.

You can do one of two things:

The harder option - disable the airbag (see owners manual), remove the steering wheel with a steering wheel puller, and replace the ignition cylinder.  The new cylinder will come with a dummy plastic key to have made into a real key - and you'll need the old key to match up the resistance of the "pellet" - which is actually a small resister, for the new key.  Keys can be made at Ace Hardware for $20.

The easier option - take a volt/ohm meter and measure the resistance on the key, then go to Radio Shack and get a resistor matching this (99 cents for a pack of 4). Under the steering wheel, under the hush panel, there will be two tiny wires encased in plastic tube (like shrink tubing) - The wires should be orange, and run from the steering wheel down the column and up into the dash.  Snip the ends on these two wires, and install the resistor  (one wire on each end of resistor) on the dash side (leave the wires open on the steering wheel side).  This should start the car with the key, but will disable the resistors function (in other words, you no longer have to have a key with a pellet, since the resistor is now installed pertmanently into the system).  Your alarm will still function if someone breaks into the car.

This recently happened on my 1997 Z28, and I chose the easy option to get the car back on the road again without spending an afternoon replacing the lock cylinder.  Took me about 20 minutes to add the resistor under the dash.

  5. You may have a broken wire on the transponder. (for the chip key) This can get a bit involved. An experienced tech will need to do the repair. This does involve getting close to the Air Bag system and clock spring. So be very careful!!!!!!!!!

  6. Sounds like you need to have your cluster reprogrammed to your ignition key.....You're gonna have to take it to the dealer at the tune of about $150

  7. if you are getting fuel then its probaly the electronic ignition module see if you have fire at the plugs if not the module is under the distributer cap good luck
