  1. Your ABS sensor measures the rotation (speed) of the wheel and compares it to the other side. When there is a difference, you get a fault light. When you shut the car off, it resets itself.

    Most people change a sensor, and the problem goes away for a period of time. Then the lights come back on.

    The problem is the plug on the wire harness (corrosion). Try unplugging the harness from the sensor and spraying electrical contact cleaner (NOT PLASTC MELTING CLEANER) If you problem continues, go to a junk yard and buy (cut) the wiring & plug from another cavalier. Splice and tape the replacement harness on your car.
