my dodge has a 3.0 mfi engine it was averaging between 23 - 26 MPG now it is around 14- 16 mpg. It doesn't have near the Power in accelleration that it should have. 140,000 mile. I replace the spark plugs and wires but that did not help. Check engine light is NOT on. but it does work. Obd computer did not help. any Ideas would be helpful.

  1. Replace the fuel filter and air filter. Then clean the throttle body. If you want, I'd also add some fuel injector cleaner with the next full tank you fill up with.

  2. Replace fuel filter, try putting some additive in your gas tank to clean out your fuel lines.

  3. exhaust  is plugged or the fuel filter is bad id go with fuel filter first since its the cheapest part to replace if that dont get it id bet you need a  converter

  4. you need to run a fuel pump pressure check on it,when the pressure gets weak on those it make you have to get in the gas more to get it going, you wont notice it that much but at times it will loose power and have no sign of a problem, you done right by having the computer scanned but it usually wont help you detect a bad filter or a weak pump, that alone will cause the mileage to be cut in half on it,and a bad 0-2 sensor will cause this and sometimes wont even show up on a scanner,id check the pump pressure,id say its got low is the reason the mileage is dropping like that,id also make sure the plugs are gaped properly,if the aren't it will drink gas, good luck.
