  1. if your amp is 2300watt rms your going to have problems running it any lower the 1000watts. even though that sub is strong and it can handle more than 1000watts you don't want to run it continuously that loud or it can sooner or later ruin the sub. i think your best option is to buy a new amp.

the most that sub can be run at over powered is 1400watts I've tried it and it played at high volume for over 2 hours without any distortion or mechanical difficulties but i had a 07 model and the technology on the newer sub is better than the model your getting also i bet the sub has been used before so you the coils and sub woofer system itself for that matter isn't going to take on the same beating as a new model. but im guessing the minimum that amp is going to run at is around 1600 or 1200 at 4 ohms. i don't recommend trying to run it like that because you probably going to be playing it loud longer than 5 hours or the lifetime and it wont ever last that long.

  2. Just to let you know, this subwoofer is 1000w RMS and 2000w peak. So if you're running with this amp at 4 ohms, then make sure it's not too much over 1400w or under 800w because that will in turn be bad for the amp, and for sure the subwoofer. If the amp runs at 4 ohms around there, then you should be fine. Maybe if you listen to the sub in your car, then stand outside and see if you need dynamat or a sound dampener in the trunk. other than that this sub will be fine. I've seen 4 of these hooked up by hifonics amps in a monte carlo so you'll be fine for sure.
