2000windstar just clicks and headlights flash and horn blows when trying 2 start.starts right away on charger?

  The cable between the solenoid and the starter has a bad connection . Check it first alone with the starter bolts, make sure the started is tight to the motor.I would do these things before changing anything.Good luck.

Pretty sure it is the battery. Quick check jump start it while it is running remove the battery and if the car dies then your alternator is toast. If the car continues to run then the battery is no longer holding charge and needs to be replaced.

The low battery is setting off the alarm when you try to start. You need to check the voltage while the engine is running to be sure the alternator is OK, and get a new battery if it is.
