  1. Be careful that the air bag doesn't go off while you are removing it. There might be a relay under the hood along with the ones for your fuel pump etc.

  2. First check to see if the flasher unit under the dash is bad. It is up under the dash on the drivers side and it is about 1 inch in diameter and there should be 2 of them, one for the 4 way flashers and the other for the turn signals. Turn the 4 ways on and feel which one is clicking. That means the other one is for the turn signals. Take it to a parts store and get one like it. Some have 2 spades and some have 3. A flasher unit doesn't cost much.

If you don't have the right tools to get into the steering column you can't change the signal switch. You need a steering wheel puller, then you need a thing to compress a spring loaded ring on the steering shaft, I made one, then there is a split ring in a grove on the steering shaft and it is hard to get out while that thing is compressing the spring loaded ring. Once that is out 3 screws hold in the signal switch. I have no idea what a signal switch would cost or if you can even get one at a parts store. You may have to go to a dealer or junk yard. Call Auto Zone and see if they have them. I know they have the flasher units.

  3. It is about a medium size job.  Replacement from the salvage yard should run about $25-30.  Very well could be the switch.  If before you lost your signals you heard a clicking sound coming from the column after you canceled the turn signal, I would bet on it.
