Leak has been detected in the evaporative system

I seriously doubt that a water pump caused this code, maybe by disconnecting the battery you cleared an intermittant code, don't worry, if the problem still exists, the light, and code will be back soon.

good rule of thumb is to drive it 50 miles before doing anything after detecting a problem that can be linked to just a simple computer error.  Take your battery out for a while and put it back in then drive it the 50 miles so your computers will restart.... if its still on then, check your pressure hoses then replace the water pump.  if your engine overheats or gets hot, STOP as this can destroy your radiator.
