My 01' Durango has been a pretty decent truck all around but the infamous light is on for a small evap leak and also a gross evap leak. It's been on since before I even added any mods to it and ive reset it time and time again but yet still returns. I have a K&N FIPK, throttle body spacer, and a 40 series flowmaster. I dont know if anyone knows an easy way to solve this problem or not. I am very ,mechanically inclined and actually am a supervisor of a mobile electroincs shop. Just wanted to put it out there!! Thanks!!

  1. one get rid of the TB spacer as it does nothing  as our fuel is injected directly in the combustion chambers. so what can  that spacer do lol.

two it can be either the hoses coming off the fuel tank or it can  be the canister. also  the fuel cap will make this code throw also

    my code was the canister

  2. Just had this problem about 2 months ago. It was the vacuum line leading from the gas tank to the box on the top by the motor. I can't think of the name of the part that it connects to. But the leak test pin pointed it. Couldn't see it. But after replacing the $17 line and resetting the system, haven't had the problem.

  3. Look for disconnected vacuum lines and hoses under the truck, near the fuel tank, along the frame and in the engine compartment. This one may have to go to a shop with an evap tester, as the equipment used to test for leaks is calibrated to detect small amounts of leakage. First rule out any damaged or disconnected hoses, tight fitting fuel filler cap, and if nothing can be detected, then make an appointment to see a professional.
