OK! soo there is this 2001 Lexus rx 300 for ONLY 15,000 dollars. it's in great shape. it's at the Lexus dealership and it is a certified used car, our current car ( 2004 Chrysler Sebring that we kinda want to get rid of ) will get us $5,425 if we trade it in (according to Kelly Blue book) my dad thinks it would be cool if we had the Lexus, but my mom is saying no still. HELP tell me how i can get my mom to say yes! i'm 12 years old and i LOVE Lexus' RX 300

  1. GET A JOB AND HELP THEM FINANCE IT.

  2. be like "mom, it would only be around 10 grand, even a little less if we trade in the old car to get the lexus. and i think it would be reallyyyy cool if we got the lexus!"

  3. forget that...  just tell your mom to lease a brand new lexus RX400..  it will be about $3,000 down and about $650 a month for 39 months.....

The RX 300 cannot compare to the new models... I have a 2005 RX 330 and it's hot.

  4. Ok, let me get this straight, u want ur parents to buy a seven year old car.  I find it highly unlikely that the car is certified.  Since the only way they certify a car is if its under 50,000 miles & must be one model old.  The RX 300 is 2 models old. The 330 came out in 04 and the 350 came out in 07.  Another thing to look at is, the Sebring was obviously still within its warranty.  Parts & labor for a Sebring do not cost as much as a Lexus.  There are so many things to consider, but I do not see an upside to buying an old car because it is a Lexus.  If u own a Lexus that is that old no one is going to care.  Its not like u can show it off.  People are either going to think that the car is paid off and ur parents are frugal.  Or they're going to think that ur parents got this car to try to impress someone, but they're not impressing anyone.  Its a great car, but still a dinosaur.  There are quite a few things that I guarantee will need to be replaced.  I would stick to something a little more in ur parents range, your mom is a very smart person.

  5. JUst tell your dad to surprise your mom with it and get it without her approval.  You're only 12 and you already know how to choose the family car= How cute is that!!

    :)

  6. The Lexus will be around for you to drive, the vehicle is un-breakable!  The 'Certified' will give you a great (Factory) warranty on the car also, this is a plus!

Looks good, runs good, backed by the best car company in the world (toyota...) this is a win-win.

    Good Luck

  7. Keep in mind that it is still a 7-year-old car.  Spending $15k solely for the aesthetics isn't a wise choice, when you can have an equally-reliable (and newer!) car for cheaper.

  8. maybe it's a gas guzzler and it aint worth it

  9. That's way too much money for a 8 yr old car. There's plenty of better ones and newer cars for less. I guess your mom's the smart one in the family! Makes no sense to pay 10K + for an older car! And for those who think lexus never break, visit the service dept at any Lexus dealer-you will see plenty of problem cars!
