Question:

2001 VW Golf Power Steering Problem

I keeping hearing a strange kind of low humming/ rubbing noise when I turn in my Golf.

I am fairly certain that the power steering fluid is low and needs to be topped off, but I am not sure where I could do that under the hood.

The car's manual does not state the location of the car's power steering and I don't want to pay for it to be fixed if all I have to do is pour some fresh fluid into my power steering.

Anybody know where the power steering is located in my vehicle?

  1. There's a cap that says powersteering Fluid, It should be on the driversside of the engine. Close to the brakefluid cap. It could be the Powersteering Fluid, It could be a Driveshaft too. I'd check it out before you rush into it.
