I emailed the lady and she says her husband needs surgery so they are selling it low for that price. tells me if I'm really interested to email her back and come inspect the car (quote on quote) and we will do the transaction through Ebay purchase protection. its my first car (I'm 19) so I don't know if this is too good to be true. most things are...

  1. Yes, it's too good to be true.

    Don't trust anyone who doesn't want to do the sale in person, there are TONS of scam ads online.

    You can usually tell by the abnormally low price, such as this.


  2. Scam.

    Anyone saying that it is under the Ebay purchase protection without selling it on Ebay is trying to rip you off.  It doesn't even make sense, but some people still fall for it.

    Search for another vehicle.  

  3. I am pretty sure that you can only use Ebay purchase protection if you actually purchase the car through Ebay. It would make no sense for her to sell the car through Ebay and pay a fee, if she has a local buyer with cash in hand.

    These scams always have some kind of sob story (need surgery, getting sent overseas, my dog ran away, etc).
