Hi, I have a dodge ram 1500 pick up with about 130,000 miles on it. recently i just had the transmission overhaul. now it's working perfectly fine. except one thing, when i shift it to reverse or drive, there's a noise coming from either the engine area or the transmission area. it sounds like something is vibrating. at first i thought it was the bumper, but i fixed that and the noise is still present. when i shift it out ot park, if you sit in the middle area inside the cab you can feel the vibration. I don't know if it could be the transmission ? please help thanks

  1. If it's only when you shift, it's a U-joint.  If it's while you're driving, it could mean the driveshaft is out of balance.

  2. that could be  a loose mount on it also check that or the engine mounts they will cause a vibration like that,or even a u-joint if your driving it,if its setting still and doing this its not a u-joint they will only do it when your driving it,you might want to check the bell housing bolts if its vibrating at idle speed, they may have vibrated loose on it,good luck.

  3. u-joint
