I have gear oil coming from the front differential end of the drive shaft not transfer case end

  1. yes it should and you should make sure it is full when you put the shaft back


  2. Yes, the shaft goes thourgh a seal. when you remove it the fluid will leak out. just be sure to check the level when your done.
