I was driving on the highway at about 55 mph. All four gears worked when I went to press on the clutch to switch gears it jammed and I wasn't able to press it down. What are the reasons this can happen? Does anyone have a problem like that before?

  1. Hi, I am experiencing the same issue, I believe.  My clutch was becoming non-responsive and impossible to switch gears.  I have been doing research and it can be a few things.  The first would be to check the master cylinder and slave cylinder to ensure all of the rubber seals are good and check for leaks.  You may replace the seals, which you could find in a rebuild kit, or the entire unit (usually $100 for master cylinder and $50 for slave cylinder).  Next you should check the clutch pressure plate and the flywheels, which are VERY expensive to replace.
