My 2002 Ford Explorer has a difficult time accepting gasoline. When trying to fill the tank, the gas pump shuts off after 3-4 seconds. It can take 30 minutes to put in 10 gallons. I tried pulling the nozzle out a little also, to no avail. My b/f (also a mechanic) checked it out (hoses n stuff) and said he thought it was some kind of flap (?) getting stuck. Do we have to buy a new gas tank, or anyone know of any easier or better solutions? thx!

  1. Filler Nozzle inlet area Damaged, Hose coming apart "Inside" and Blocking Flow or Tank Pipe at Tank Damaged. Need to remove the hose to check for Damage. NOTE; 1/2 Tank Max. on a Level Surface ONLY when removing hose! "Is the Tank Hanging Level to the Body/Frame?"

  2. not venting  bad ck valve in in or crushed

  3. the best solution is to get a vehicle that doen't burn gas, try and go green
