2002 Ford Escape Daytime running lights

2002 Ford Escape Daytime Running lights don't work. The headlight, high and low beam work fine. A mechanic told me it couldn't be the DRL module, or the headlights would be on high beam all the time.

Any similar experiences welcome. Would my headlights still work if the DRL module was shot. Thanks

The ONLY function of the DRL module is the daytime running lights. It is separate from the normal headlight function, in fact if your DRL is faulty simply un-plug it (located on the left front inner fender with a number like 15A270 or 15A272) This does NOT AFFECT your headlights, if you want day runners turn on your headlights just ike you do on an older vehicle.
