I just bought my car a month ago and it is a v6 with only 55,000 miles. All i have done to the car is wash it and put a new air filter in it. Recently, the car has been hesistant and starts to shakes when i accelerate sometimes. Any suggestions to what might be wrong?

  1. If you're engine light is on, it's the emissions, usually an oxygen censor or catalatic convertor which will cause a hard start. Sounds like you also need an alignment on your wheels. That will cause shaking when accelerating. Get a diagnotics done, Auto Zone does it for free. Oxygen censors are about $60.00 each. This car is not that old though to really be having these problems with emissions unless they changed out the air filter system with one that really should not have been on there. Check the vacumm hoses and make sure everything is hooked up right for your air flow. Did you get any warranties? If you bought it from a dealership you might to see if they will check it out for you. It's probably not anything that is serious. A diagnotic though will tell you. If you're engine light is not on you may just need a tune-up.

  2. sounds like a coil failing. misfire condition, check codes before any other damage may occur. several auto parts stores offer this service, there are a number of possibilities for this condition
