2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V?

i have a 2002 nissan sentra se-r spec v with an engine light code that is p01448 i have no idea what this means i dont know if any one else has had the same prob.

  1. Its amazing how many Spec V owners there are on Yahoo.

    P1448 is an EVAP Cannister Vent Control Valve Malfunction.

    This code does not automatically mean the VCV needs to be replaced.  It just means a fault was detected there which may or may not be ongoing.  It will not cause a drivability problem but you won't pass if you have emissions testing in your state.  This may be covered under the federally mandated 8 year/80k mile emissions system warranty.


  2. I'd just try to search google for that.  If that doesn't work, call the dealer or your local mechanic.  They should be happy to help you and give you a quote for what it will cost to fix it.

    OK I did the work for you.  It says P01448 - replace vent control valve.

    It was the first thing that came up with that code and nissan typed into google.  I didn't even have to click on it to get it, sheesh--help yourself a little people.
