2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT?

Question

My car has a monsoon sound system with a supposed 8 channel stock amp. What I want to know is why? And were the heck are 8 speakers if it is. Or if a couple of channels are bridged to certain speakers. Ive looked in the car and only can find 6 speakers.

you may have "Full-range speakers"

Full-range speakers contain all the speaker elements in one basket. In their simplest form they consist of a woofer for the lows, and a tweeter mounted onto the woofer to produce the highs. Some models will have additional drivers, like mid range or super tweeter.

so it may look like one speaker from the outside of the grill but be anywhere from two to five speakers once you remove the grill and can see the speaker itself

this is in-case you wanna get 2 subwoofers, one channel for each sub.
