  1. could be several things start at the easy fix

Is the linkage stuck and won't move to the drive position?

    Check the fluid?

those are the only easy fix issues. If it is neither one of thoes you will need a transmission specialist from the dealer.

  2. Call the dealership immediately. or your local mechanic......

  3. Your cadillac has a "fuel cost calculator"  It has now understood that it costs you basically $0.75 per mile to operate and it now refuses to do so.

  4. check the linkage on the tranny, and allso be sure the vaccum line is hooked up as well!!!  Or the bands could have let go is the worst possible thing!!!  Did you try checking the tranny fluid as well?? and also low ,and second gears as well???

I think its the fluid is very low!! If so after adding you will need a fluid change and filter as well!!

  5. Dude your Escalade is OLD,get a new one, such as the 08 Escalade or the new 09 Escalade Hybrid that's coming out this fall,If you cant afford a new Escalade then get a Tahoe or Yukon, besides that Escalade is only going to give you more problems and its OLD and ugly

  6. its american engineering....that just what happens after 5 years

  7. There is a problem with your transmission. You need to take it to a TRANSMISSION shop and have it looked at by a professional. But be forewarned it could get really expensive if you need a new one and may cost well over $1,000.
