2004 175 optimax water in fuel problem?

Question

Just got it a few weeks ago and the "water in fuel" alarm wont stop going off. I just changed the water fuel separator and alarm still goes off, engine appears to be running fine though.

Any one got any ideas?

Is there somewhere else water might be getting in the fuel?

Or just a sensor problem?

Take a long hard look at the fuel tank, it could be condensation that is making the alarm go off. Try running the motor on a 6 gallon tank and see if the alarm goes off. If it stops then you have a problem with the tank. I would change the sensor anyway. Good luck.
