My head lights just seem short like they stop a cars length in front of me insted of going off till they fade. I was wondering if theres an adjustment i could do and also what do you think about xenon bulbs? Im looking at some online something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Accessories_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__VOLVO-S40-2005-HID-XENON-HEADLIGHT-BULBS-Hi-Beam_W0QQitemZ150281288665QQddnZPartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQadnZCarQ20Q26Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQddiZ2811QQadiZ2865QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150281288665&_trkparms=39:1|65:1&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245.l1318

Is something like this okay and can someone explain the difference between that and HID xenon?

thanks.

  1. I have the same car. I have no problems with my headlights but I do have the HID Xenon system with my car. I do believe there is an adjustment to the headlights and they may need to be pointed up just a hair, or they may be pointing up to far and need to be dropped a little. I'm not sure if the owners manual explains how to do this. I think there are some people on eBay selling Cd's that are specific to certain cars and basically tell you everything you need to know about the car and specifically how to perform any maintenance that would ever need to be done on the car. Take a look at this website: http://www.jwspeaker.com/hid_information...

It will give you the specifics on HID lights and the last paragraph on the page explains the difference between a true HID system and the cheap bulbs you are seeing on eBay
