I need some help! I have a 2004 Ford Expedition and the drivers side window is stuck down. The other three windows have worked off and on and struggled to come up the last few months, but all of a sudden yesterday the drivers side stopped working. The others will still try to work.

How do I know if I need to replace the switch, regulator, or motor?

And, where do I find out how to replace those things?

  1. heat dust and age are the killers of window parts both mechanical and electrical   remove the door panels and undo the bolts that hold the window onto the regulator assembly and make sure the window moves freely in its guides    if the switches are sending power then the switch assembly is fine   the motors might not be happy so throw them out and replace them

where to learn.....a book  and taking things apart same place the rest of us learned

  2. the window regulator is the mechanical frame that rases and lowers the glass. Its shot. the drivers window is always the first to go.
