I've got a Kawasaki ninja ZX-10R and I want to know how to wheelie. I don't have any experience with wheelies on anything motorized and have nothing else to practice on, how should I do it?

  1. Get to 30mph, shift to 2nd... clutch, rev it up till about 9 (if not enough, than more) and let the clutch go. Cover your foot break in case you go too far back and u have to break with rear breaks.

    its easy.

Do it in the parking lot first...

  2. dude, he has a ZX10, not  its 636cc bretheren...

do not wind it up to 9K and dump it in 2nd..youre gonna **** your pants...start very slow...

i would practice in 1st gear, getting an all throttle wheelie going...if you ride your bike alot, im sure youve had it wide open..if you go wide open in 1st, its gonna pull the front end off the ground...youll get used to that sensation...

then try the on/off/back on the throttle method....1st gear...so you roll away from a stop, she starts winding into the power band, go off the throttle then hard back on the throttle...the wheel will come up again...you will think the front tire is a few feet off the ground, but youll really be lucky to be getting a foot or less off the ground...

last, at least for me, was to learn to clutch up 2nd.  on my R1, which isnt quite as powerful as your bike, i would roll on 2nd gear, anywhere between 30-60, then you roll hard on the throttle and blip the clutch, kinda like if you were going to powershift.  the front end will loft up nicely, but youre going to **** your pants, lean forward, and get off the throttle...

what you wanna practice now is not leaning forward....i like to make my body static, be concious that you dont lean your body around.  i sit up, ive got the bike putting along at 40-50 or so, then twist the throttle and blip the clutch..keeping my body static...the bike will loft up, this is where you begin to learn throttle control for a wheelie...i would practice keeping the throttle static at this point too, you will bring up the front end, and it will gently settle to the pavement again if you dont feather the throttle.

to be sure, it would be much better for you to go out and meet some guys at a stunt spot and watch/listen to them...watch what they do w their body, listen to the bike, etc...took me a few days, then i was hooked

dont forget tho..u play, u may pay.  luckily, I looped a 50, not my R1...it doesnt matter though, it hurt like a *****!  learned a lesson, 40 mph on a 50 is the same as 40 mph on an R1....

but usually, im putting my wheelies down over 100mph on my R1! that little accident kinda slowed my rolll for alittle while..

    Good luck

  3. KEEP IT IN 1ST GEAR TO RIDE AT 5K RP MS FOR A MOMENT THEN DROP YOUR RP MS TO 3500 AND RE-THROTTLE HIGH AND IT WILL COME OFF THE GROUND.

THAT'S A PRETTY BIG BIKE TO HAVE NEVER DONE ANY STUNTING. IT COULD BE DANGEROUS, SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL/SAFE AND USE PROPER GEAR WHILE LEARNING HOW TO STUNT. DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU COME UP TO 12 O'CLOCK.

  4. With that big of a bike, it should be easy enough. Just keep it in the high RPM and lean back, its powerful enough to lift it.

Do NOT stab into the powerband in first or second gear like you would with a sub 600cc bike. at over 1K worth of CCs, if you do that, you will flip your bike so fast you wont know what happened until the front fairing smashed over your ribcage.

  5. dont read about it, find someone who can be there and show you, also make sure you understand what could happen
